The trousers for early movement.

A knit designed for movement

In the early months, a baby moves constantly: bending legs, stretching feet, turning over. The Chachou trousers support these movements through two complementary knit stitches. The jersey stitch provides elasticity; the garter stitch adds gentle structure. The result: a knit that doesn't pull, doesn't constrict, and leaves the body free. The waistband stays soft, with no elastic to leave marks. The legs follow every flex without restriction. This is a garment that respects the natural movement of the newborn, from the very first weeks. The breathable knit offers your baby a true cocoon of softness for those first movements.

Merino wool adapted for newborns

We work with merino wool spun by the French mill Fonty, founded in the 19th century in the Creuse region and awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label. The fineness of the fibre makes it soft to the touch. Merino wool breathes and regulates heat, absorbs moisture—properties that matter when skin is delicate and thermal regulation still developing. The merino fibre is naturally antibacterial: it stays fresh longer, even when worn for hours. It doesn't scratch, unlike standard wool, and suits sensitive skin.

French craftsmanship, in small batches

The knitting is done in the Île-de-France region. The finishing is meticulous: each stitch is linked one by one, so no seam leaves a mark. These trousers are made to be passed down. This is a garment designed to last, in the tradition of the French newborn layette. Give the softness of a piece that stands the test of time and accompanies your baby's first steps.

Why choose merino wool for baby?

Natural temperature regulation

Merino fibre helps maintain a comfortable temperature: it keeps baby warm when it's cool, without weighing them down when it gets warmer.

Soft and comfortable

Its fine, supple knit respects baby's delicate skin and feels cosy, with no itch.

Breathable

Wool lets air circulate and helps wick away moisture, keeping baby comfortable all day long.
