A cardigan designed for the first days.
A soft, breathable merino knit
The merino wool of the Zazou Préma cardigan is spun in France by Fonty, a mill in the Creuse awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label. Fine and naturally soft, this natural fibre lets the skin breathe and helps maintain comfortable warmth — a material particularly valued for the tiniest babies. Jersey stitch brings suppleness and lightness to the knit, while garter stitch delicately highlights the design. A protective material chosen to gently wrap babies born before term.
Delicate finishes against the skin
The flat-seamed assembly gives delicate finishes, with no bulky seams against the skin. The back button fastening makes dressing easier by limiting handling of baby. The boxwood buttons are made by a French manufacturer in the Jura. The neckline and armholes are carefully worked to preserve the cardigan's suppleness and naturally follow the tiny movements of the littlest ones.
Knitted in France
The Zazou Préma cardigan is knitted in Île-de-France by knitwear professionals skilled in flat-seaming in particular. From merino wool spun in the Creuse to boxwood buttons made in the Jura, we favour French craftsmanship and demanding finishes to create layette pieces made to last and be passed down.
Available in preemie size, the Zazou Préma cardigan naturally finds its place in the birth trousseau of babies born before term. Discover our collection of merino wool clothing for premature babies, knitted in France to gently accompany their first days.
Why choose merino wool for baby?
Natural temperature regulation
Merino fibre helps maintain a comfortable temperature: it keeps baby warm when it's cool, without weighing them down when it gets warmer.
Soft and comfortable
Its fine, supple knit respects baby's delicate skin and feels cosy, with no itch.
Breathable
Wool lets air circulate and helps wick away moisture, keeping baby comfortable all day long.
