You are preparing the wardrobe for a baby boy about to arrive: each piece is chosen for the softness it brings, the freedom of movement it preserves and its ability to accompany the early months. The garments shown here are knitted in France in fine merino wool, soft and supple, particularly suited to baby's first clothes.
A wardrobe that grows with baby
The cardigan remains one of the essential pieces: its opening makes dressing easier from the very first days. The cardigan then allows you to add or remove a layer easily according to temperature, while the jumper finds its place naturally as baby grows.
The romper dresses baby in a single piece; trousers pair easily with a newborn cardigan, a baby cardigan or a jumper and allow you to vary outfits throughout the day.
The coat and jacket accompany outings when the temperature drops. The blanket wraps baby in your arms or on the go; Baby booties, hand-knitted in France, complete the outfit when baby needs extra warmth.
Merino wool: a soft and breathable fibre
All pieces are made in 100% merino wool, spun by Fonty mill — founded in the 19th century in Creuse and awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label. Fine, soft and supple, merino wool offers a gentle touch on baby's delicate skin.
Naturally breathable and thermoregulating, it helps baby retain warmth when it is cool while allowing air to circulate. It also absorbs moisture and helps limit the feeling of dampness.
The wool benefits from a superwash treatment: machine washing at 30°C maximum, on wool or delicate programme, ideally in a washing bag. A short spin removes water without leaving the knit waterlogged. Drying is done flat, away from heat sources and without a tumble dryer.
100% French production, in small batches
Each garment is part of French production. The wool is spun in Creuse, then the knitting and making of the pieces are carried out in Île-de-France by our French partners, specialists in knitwear.
Linking involves picking up each stitch of the knit one by one to achieve refined finishes. Bonnets and booties are hand-knitted in France. When models include boxwood buttons, these are made in Jura by a manufacturer established since 1910. Pieces are produced in small batches with full traceability.
Which size to choose at birth?
Size 1 month corresponds to approximately 54 cm and 4 kg; size 3 months to approximately 60 cm and 5 to 6 kg. For a premature baby, preemie size 00 corresponds to approximately 40 to 45 cm and 1.8 to 2.5 kg.
The size guide details the correspondences according to baby's height and weight to help you choose the most suitable size.
Are you dressing a baby born early? The premature collection brings together cardigans, bonnets, booties and other pieces adapted to small sizes.
Choosing the pieces you need
Are you looking for a baby boy gift? A newborn cardigan, a baby cardigan, a pair of booties, a blanket or a coordinated set are useful and thoughtful gifts that will delight parents while accompanying baby's first months.
For the early weeks, plan for 3 to 4 cardigans generally, and possibly one or two more to limit too frequent washing. Add a few trousers or rompers, a cardigan, a bonnet, booties and a blanket.
Merino wool, naturally breathable, also adapts to warm temperatures: a newborn cardigan or light baby cardigan remains useful in summer, particularly in the morning, evening or when the temperature changes. Simply adjust the layers to baby's comfort.
All colours are possible. Our collections offer blue, green, taupe, ecru, grey-blue and other shades that are easy to coordinate. Each piece is designed to accompany baby's first months with softness and simplicity.
Any order placed before 12 pm is dispatched the same day, excluding weekends and public holidays. Each order is presented in a pouch and the gift box is offered for orders over €90. You can also add a personalised message free of charge, written on a Mistricotine card.
How many cardigans should I plan for a newborn?
Plan for 3 to 4 cardigans in size 1 month generally for the early weeks, then 2 to 3 cardigans in size 3 months to take over as baby grows. You can plan for one or two additional pieces if you wish to limit too frequent washing. If the facility provides a list, always check it.
Is merino wool suitable in summer?
Yes. Naturally breathable and thermoregulating, merino wool allows air to circulate, absorbs moisture and helps limit the feeling of dampness. A newborn cardigan or light baby cardigan can thus remain useful in summer, particularly in the morning, evening or when the temperature changes. Simply adapt the layers to the actual temperature and baby's comfort.
Which clothes to buy for a baby boy?
For the early weeks, plan for 3 to 4 cardigans, 2 to 3 trousers, a baby cardigan for cooler moments, as well as a bonnet, booties and a blanket. A few well-chosen pieces are enough to compose several outfits and adapt to temperature changes. You can then add gradually according to baby's growth, the season and daily needs.
